AUVERS-SUR-OISE

 Auvers-Sur-Oise, Vincent Van Gogh's  village.

This village, near Paris, is famous as Van Gogh stayed here after being discharged from a psychiatric hospital till he passed away. Van Gogh stayed in this small town for a little over two months and left over 70 works, painting all most every day.

Chateau d'Auvers

The castle of Auvers sur Ouest which looks seems like a beautiful misfit in a village. It is said to have been built by an Italian banker in the mid 17th century. The well-kept gardens inside the castle are some of the few places to see in the village of Auvers-sur-Eaux.
Address: Chateau d'Auvers sur Oise, 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise

Mairie d'Auvers-sur-Oise

Here are the remains of The Town Hall at Auvers in the background with Vincent Van Gogh's paintings.
Address: Mairie d'Auvers-sur-Oise, 38 Rue du Général de Gaulle, 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise

The shape of the roof of the building and the colour of the paints reminds us of the landscape of the Scandinavian Netherlands where Vincent Van Gogh spent his childhood. I started with Impressionist painting, and quickly it was an enriching experience to be in the same place where van Gogh once drew his paintings.

When looking at the whirling circles and intense colours, his paintings seem to transcend existing impressionism.

Auberge Ravoux

The Labu Inn, where Van Gogh painted until he killed himself with a pistol. It is well preserved in the restaurant that it was kept for a long time. The interior is decorated with only a small souvenir boutique and Van Gogh’s room. Admission is available at the ticket booth located at the back of the building, at a price of 5 euros.
Address: 52 Rue du Général de Gaulle, 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise

L'Église d'Auvers-sur-Oise

L'Eglise d'Auvers-sur-Oise, a 13th-century Gothic church, has been preserved  Vincent van Gogh's works until today.
Address: Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption d'Auvers-sur-Oise, 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise

Vincent Van Gogh Tomb

The last work left by Van Gogh (Wheat Field with Crows). It is said that. After Vincent Van Gogh committed suicide with a pistol, his brother, Theodore, suffered from depression. He died later, and his graveyard was later found next to Van Gogh's tomb.
Location: Tombe de Vincent van Gogh, 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise
